(AAP image, John Gass)CHRIS Pollard and Daniel Hammond were pleased to hear the suburb they were living in was one that was tipped to perform well in 2018.Mr Pollard bought an old house in Cannon Hill which he had knocked down, split the block and built a new home on his half about four years ago.He has now listed the home at 65 Dahlia St, for sale and believed the changes and infrastructure added to the suburb since he moved there have made it more popular.The four-bedroom home is listed for sale through Brenton Faehrmann of Place Bulimba. “I lived in Morningside, in a townhouse and I wanted to build a house, it was always a dream of mine to build a house,’’ Mr Pollard said.More from news02:37Purchasers snap up every residence in the $40 million Siarn Palm Beach Northless than 1 hour agoNew apartments released at idyllic retirement community Samford Grove Presented by “Cannon Hill gave me the affordability of the land, I wanted to be inner city as well, close to the city and I just liked the fact that Cannon Hill had lots of land at the time that was affordable.“Four years ago there wasn’t the infrastructure that is there now. “The council has just done some beautification in the main section of Cannon Hill and there is also a lot of apartments going up, there is also that East Village that will eventually have cafes and restaurants.’’Mr Pollard said the whole eastern corridor would also benefit from the upgrade of Wynnum Rd which was underway.Despite all the changes Mr Pollard said it still had a good suburban feel.“Obviously I am selling but I’m still going to be looking to stay in the area,’’ he said.The latest figures from CoreLogic reveal Cannon Hill now has a median house price of $780,000 which had increased 9.1 per cent in the past 12 months.last_img
