On behalf of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Željko Božić, President of the Council of the Tourism Professional Group, greeted those present and informed those present about the organization of the Continental Tourism Forum for this year. The Eighth Tourist Forum of Continental Tourism will be held on October 3rd and 4th in Vukovar on the topic of cultural and religious tourism. Ivan Marijanović, director of ŽK Vukovar, briefly presented the study Analysis of the impact of the VAT rate on the competitiveness of accommodation and catering in Croatia, which analyzed three scenarios of taxation of tourism in Croatia (VAT on accommodation services 10%, VAT on accommodation services and service 8% and VAT on accommodation services 13%, and on food and beverage services 25%). The analysis found that the application of current VAT rates from an economic point of view over a period of five years has a negative effect, through less investment, accommodation capacity and employees in the hospitality industry.The meeting announced the Academy of Earth and Hand – a project of nurturing and preserving Ilok’s cultural heritage, which is being implemented from 6 to 10 June. There was also talk of the upcoming Health Fair, whose theme this year is Communications. Therefore, as part of the health fair, workshops will be held for hoteliers on writing reports and announcements between journalists and hoteliers. Attendees are asked if they have suggestions for topics for education / workshops in the tourism sector to submit them to ŽK Vukovar. It was also agreed that a working meeting on development measures and the Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem project would be held.Barbara Didović from ŽK Vukovar announced the Buy Croatian campaign in Vukovar, Rijeka, Zagreb and Bjelovar and pointed out the specialized form of the Croatian Product for Croatian Tourism campaign, which will be held on November 6 and 7 in Zagreb, to which she invited those present.Jozo Gale from the Association of Chefs of Vukovar-Srijem County announced a project of a mobile kitchen as a protection of nature and the environment, as part of the health fair.
