first_imgOn Sunday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona HMD Global launched five new Nokia smartphones. The Nokia 9 Pureview was the high-end phone. But of the lot, two were the mainstream phones. These are the Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2. The Nokia 4.2 is beginning of a new series, sandwiched between the Nokia 6 and the Nokia 3 series. The Nokia 3.2 is an update to the Nokia 3.1.Both phones should come to India soon, and both will compete with the likes of Redmi and Realme phones. We will have more to say about the Nokia 4.2 and the Nokia 3.2 in the coming weeks but for now, here is a quick look at them.SpecificationsProcessor: The Nokia 4.2 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. This is an octa-core processor. The Nokia 3.2 is powered by Snapdragon 429.RAM: both the phones will come in two variants: 2GB RAM variant and 3GB RAM variant.Internal storage: Both phones will come in two variants: 16GB storage and 32GB storage. Both phones support microSD card.Screen: The Nokia 4.2 has a 5.71-inch TFT screen. The Nokia 3.2 has a bigger 6.26-inch TFT screen. Both the phones have screen resolution of 720×1520 pixels.Rear camera: The Nokia 4.2 comes with dual-camera setup on the rear. The primary camera uses a 13-megapixel image sensor paired with a F2.2. The secondary 2-megapixel camera is used to capture depth information. The Nokia 3.2 has single rear camera, which uses a 13-megapixel image sensor.Front camera: On the front, the Nokia 4.2 sports an 8-megapixel camera. This is also the biggest difference between these two phones compared to others like the Redmi and the Realme in the market. The stock Android 9 Pie means that the two phones will probably quickly receive Android updates in future.– The stock Android 9 Pie update also means no UI ads in the phone’s software, although in whatever way Android tracks its users remain there, just the way it is for every Android phone user.– The Nokia 4.2 has a fingerprint sensor as well as Google Assistant button. The Nokia 3.2 (32GB variant) has a fingerprint sensor.– The Nokia 4.2 uses a metal and glass body. The Nokia 3.2 has a polycarbonate body.– The Nokia measures 148.95 x 71.30 x 8.39 mm and weighs 161 grams. The Nokia 3.2 measures 159.44 x 76.24 x 8.60 mm and weighs a little over 180 grams.– Both the Nokia 4.2 and the Nokia 3.2 come with 2.5D curved glass layer on their screens.How to buy Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2: For now the Nokia 4.2 and the Nokia 3.2 have been launched globally. They will first go on sale in a few European countries. But expect them to come to India soon.India price: The global price of the Nokia 4.2 starts at $169. This is for the 2GB variant. Expect it to cost in India around Rs 11000. The 3GB variant costs $199, and that may cost close to Rs 14,000 in India.
